GENTLE YOGA for Pain Relief – Improve your Quality of Life
Pain can affect range of mobility, balance, the breath and even the ability to relax. This gentle yoga class blends together breath awareness, deep relaxation techniques and movements to strengthen muscles and increase mobility for anyone who is challenged by illness or the stiffness that comes with age, repetitive stress or injury. Meditation is also incorporated into the practice, a technique known to calm the pain center in the brain and to increase the ability to deal with stress.
This class can help teach you how to focus your mind to change your experience of physical pain. It can teach you how to listen to your body and to transform feelings of frustration, fear and sadness. It can give you the sense of control, safety and courage that you need to move past your experience of pain, so that you can participate in the activities that matter to you.
Gentle Yoga for Pain Relief is perfect for people of all ages and abilities and no previous experience is required. If you have a known medical condition or injury, we suggest that you obtain permission from your doctor or medical provider prior to participating in class.

Who Needs Yoga?
-
Yoga relieves symptoms of illness and assists in the healing and prevention of a variety of disorders.
At some time or other, most of us can identify with some, many or all of the following:
stress, fatigue, lack of sleep or insomnia, low energy and reduced stamina, stiffness, pain (e.g. back, wrists and neck), headache, eye strain, poor concentration/memory and focus, depression, distraction, heavy workload, injury, postural challenges and disturbances in breathing.
Yoga has a positive effect on all of the above symptoms and numerous others. Many of our students have been advised to take up yoga by their doctors. In fact, many of our students are medical professionals.
Hatha yoga can indeed benefit everyone regardless of experience. If you want to be stronger, healthier, with more energy in your body and less stress, then yoga is an ideal solution.
We’ve developed a comprehensive yoga curriculum of asana, breath awareness and guided relaxation that allow you to feel stronger, more flexible and balanced.
We believe that yoga can provide significant and tangible benefits to everyone. We deliver yoga programs to the highest of professional standards, with integrity and commitment.
‘I’ve noticed that I have increased flexibility and strength, reduced back, shoulder and hip pain. My balance is also better. I’m able to control my emotions and have less stress and tension. I interact better with others and can concentrate more and focus. Yoga helps to control anxiety and relaxation and makes a difference with daily living situations. I like all aspects of practicing yoga.’
