The Banff Trail Community Association provides a community based, volunteer run soccer program for ages 3 through 10.  

 In addition to the benefits of fitness and fresh air, joining soccer is a great way to get to know your neighbours and for your children to make some new friends!

2024 Soccer Season runs April 30th - June 22nd

Important dates:

  • Coaches Clinic: April 18th at 6:00 pm

  • Soccer Technical Training days: April 23rd and April 25th

  • BBQ & Picture Day: May 26th

  • Soccer Wrap Up Party: June 23rd

Fees include: 

o   Team Jersey

o   Mid-season BBQ

o   Season Wrap-up Party

o   Team/Individual photo

Additional Equipment Required:

o   U4/U6 shin pads & cleats recommended

o   U8/U10 – cleats recommended & shin pads required

Volunteers

Because BTCA Soccer is a volunteer run program, at least one parent from each family is required to volunteer during the season to ensure adequate support for each team and events.   If you do not select one of the following options when registering, we will contact you to let you know where your volunteer services will be needed.  Specific details will be provided once volunteer positions are determined. 

 

Each team requires the following volunteer positions to be filled (instruction will be provided):

    1. Head Coach

      • run team practices and games

      • assist team manager with communicating schedules and game cancellations (if required)

      • ensure required equipment is brought to each practice/game

Coaching clinic will be provided.

    1. Assistant Coach

      • support head coach during team practices and games

      • assist head coach in ensuring required equipment is available at each practice/game

Coaching clinic will be provided.

    1. Team Manager

      • main point of contact for the soccer season

      • communicate schedules and game cancellations

      • prepare snack schedule (if team agrees on bringing group snacks)

    1. Equipment Assistant

      • responsible for equipment pick-up and drop-off at beginning and end of season

      • collect and assemble team equipment prior to the start of the season (at the BTCA) including count and pump up balls, pack uniforms, pinnies, etc.

➡️The BTCA will arrange coaching clinics for all Coaches prior to the start of the season and provide coaching materials.

Additional volunteers required throughout the season:

Soccer Event Coordinator

      • organize volunteers for the event

      • organize purchase of food and beverages

      • work with BTCA and other CA Soccer Coordinators, as required

    1. Equipment Coordinator - distribute equipment, and collect equipment at the end of the season

 

    1. Field Set Up Coordinator - organize field measurement and line painting

 

    1. Field Measurement - measure fields prior to start of the season

 

    1. Line Painting - paint field lines (2-3 times per year, dependent on weather)

    1. BBQ/Photo Day Volunteers – split into shifts

 

    1. Super Soccer Saturday Day Volunteers – split into shifts

Youth Opportunity

The BTCA is looking for referees (paid positions) to referee U10 games on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm in May and June. Training will be provided. Teens can contact soccer@banfftrailcommunity.ca in interested in refereeing.
